Overheated Appliances

appliance no home should be withoutTwo home appliances, two residential fires!

How much does the latest model of a television set cost? A 52 inch LCD TV can reach over Php 200,000 and yet the hazard of accidental fire still remains a threat to any home especially if put on standby mode for long hours. Just like what happened in Las Pinas City last weekend, a two-story house caught blaze triggered by an overheated television set.

Although there were no injuries or deaths reported, a two million peso worth of property was damaged. Thus, fire personnel advice homeowners to turn off or better yet unplug any appliance when not in use.

This was followed by another residential fire the next day involving a two-story house inside an exclusive subdivision in Quezon City. An overheated electric fan was found to be the cause which destroyed at least  five million peso worth of property. Desk or stand fans can go as cheap as less than a thousand pesos but if not well maintained, sparks can ignite and burn the entire house down. Thus, when an electric fan stops spinning or get stuck when turned on, it is already a clue that overheat can ensue.

So what is the appliance that no home should be without? It is none other than, BRONCO Therman fire extinguisher which automatically operates when a room temperature reaches at least 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Unlike other home appliances that catch fire once heated, BRONCO puts off fire when heated.
